Coates & Seely Hampshire Rose NV
Coates & Seely Hampshire Rosé NV
Discover Elegant English Sparkling Rosé
Crafted in the chalk-rich soils of Hampshire, Coates & Seely Hampshire Rosé NV is a benchmark example of premium English sparkling wine. This elegant rosé is made using the Méthode Traditionelle, reflecting the terroir and precision winemaking synonymous with Coates & Seely.
Tasting Notes
Delicate and pale pink in hue, this award-winning rosé opens with aromas of wild raspberry, crisp orchard fruit, and subtle floral notes. The palate is beautifully balanced—full-bodied, yet graceful, with a creamy mousse and bright acidity. A mineral edge leads to a long, chalky finish, adding to its finesse and drinkability.
Winemaking Excellence
This English sparkling rosé is composed of Pinot Noir (80%) and Pinot Meunier (20%), sourced from meticulously selected vineyards in Hampshire. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and concrete eggs, it gains complexity from reserve wines and lees ageing of 24 to 36 months. The result is a vibrant and nuanced sparkling wine, perfect for any celebration or refined pairing.

Winery | A mile to the south of the Hampshire vineyards, the clear chalk stream of the River Test flows along the valley floor. Three miles to the north lies the high chalk ridge of Watership Down, one of the highest points in Hampshire, which Iron Age Man first used as a vantage point. Nestled among wooded hillsides at 50 to 100 metres, the Coates & Seely vineyards lie on either side of a secluded V-shaped valley. The chalk soils and clay caps disgorge rugged flints, which help retain the sun's heat, warming the topsoil, while in the late summer and early autumn, the enclosed valley helps trap the last of the season’s heat to ripen the grapes. The vineyard is cultivated without the use of pesticides or herbicides and with limited use of fungicides. The vines are hand-harvested when the grapes have reached optimum maturity and show the perfect balance of crisp acidity, sweet fruit, and bright saline minerality. |
