Château Pichon-Longueville Baron 2017, Pauillac 2ème Cru Classé
A timeless Left Bank Bordeaux with power, elegance, and age-worthy potential
Experience the captivating finesse of Château Pichon-Longueville Baron 2017, a classic Pauillac Grand Vin from one of Bordeaux's most prestigious estates. Classified as a 2ème Cru Classé since 1855, this exceptional vintage embodies the essence of Left Bank Cabernet Sauvignon with bold structure, precision, and expressive aromatics.
Crafted with 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, this vintage reveals a perfumed bouquet of ripe blackcurrants, cedarwood, crushed violets, and hints of graphite and minerally gravel. On the palate, it opens with powerful, forward fruit that is both juicy and finely textured, unfolding into layers of opulent dark fruit, polished tannins, and smoky oak.
Balanced, harmonious, and showing remarkable depth, this wine boasts a gripping structure and long, persistent finish. Perfect for cellaring, but also enjoyable now with proper decanting, Château Pichon-Longueville Baron 2017 is a wine of pedigree that promises to evolve beautifully over time.

Winery | The 73-hectare estate features high-quality gravelly soil, with large pebbles and sand, which are typical of the appellation and provide an ideal viticulture terroir. The subsoil composition allows water retention to feed the roots, while the undulating relief of the gravel soils is ideal for drainage. Low in nutrients and with little excess water, this unique soil sparingly nourishes the vines, whose average age is 30. The maritime climate, with its proximity to the Gironde estuary, has a tempering effect on the warm summers. The estate is actively committed to protecting the environment. The vineyard is planted as follows: 62% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, and is meticulously divided into separate plots. Each plot receives specific care and attention adapted to its particular profile. The vines are Double Guyot trained with pruning, desuckering, topping, and crop thinning to promote healthy vines. |
