Product Description:
The Chateau de Tracy Pouilly-Fume 2023 is an exquisite wine that exemplifies the classic character of this renowned Loire Valley appellation. Made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, this wine showcases the region's distinct terroir with a rich minerality and complexity.
On the nose, the wine delivers an elegant bouquet of blackcurrants and boxwood, with delicate herbal notes of tarragon. As the aroma evolves, you’ll detect subtle hints of lemon and exotic fruits, perfectly balanced by the defining minerality typical of Pouilly-Fumé wines. The palate is both tangy and fresh, offering a remarkable richness that echoes the vibrant fruit flavours detected on the nose. Its long finish leaves an impression of elegance, with each sip revealing the complexity of this beautifully crafted wine.
Produced by Chateau de Tracy, this wine follows an organic farming approach, although it is still in conversion towards full organic certification. The estate is committed to sustainable farming practices and is certified with HVE (High Environmental Value). The wine is also fully vegetarian and vegan, with no use of animal-derived fining agents like milk or eggs.

Winery | The vineyard is located in Tracy-sur-Loire, on the slopes overlooking the Loire River. This wine is produced from high-density vines of 17,000 vines per hectare; the standard density for the appellation is 7,000 vines per hectare. More competition between the vines forces the roots to dig deeper to draw reserves from the soil. The influence of the terroir is increased, vigour is controlled, and the plants are more robust. The specific pruning, de-budding and leaf thinning result from rigorous research and intensive work on the vines. The vegetation is less dense and less vulnerable to disease, and each plant bears a maximum of two or three bunches (the average in the appellation is 10 to 12 bunches). The vines are planted with a south-westerly orientation to provide the maximum exposure to the sun. The clayey flint soil imparts an assertive character to the wines; they are powerful and distinct, while the calcareous Kimmeridgian subsoil produces rich, elegant wines with complex aromas. The vineyard is managed using sustainable practices, and the ecological system is meticulously considered. The grapes are hand-harvested in several triages to ensure the optimal maturity of the berries. |
