Winery	Carpineto's Montalcino estate is one of the highest in the appellation at around 500 metres above sea level. The single vineyard 'Vigneto Paradiso' is planted with Sangiovese Grosso on a dry-farmed hillside with a northern exposure. Planted at a density of 2.20 x 0.90 metres, equivalent to over 5,000 vines per hectare, the vines are trained on a unilateral cordon system. The sedimentary soil has a galestro frame with clay accumulations dating to the Eocene era, some 15 million years ago, which provides good drainage. The vines are sustainably farmed and have moss growing underneath them, encouraging soil biodiversity. The fruit is handpicked at optimum maturity. The unique microclimate in this panoramic setting produces fine wines with elegance, minerality and great longevity.
