Winery	Situated in Maremma on the Tuscan coast, sixty miles southwest of Florence, the Guado al Tasso estate extends from the green hills surrounding the old village of Bolgheri down to the sea. This beautiful plain is called the ‘Anfiteatro Bolgherese’ because the hills enclose the plains overlooking the sea to form a natural amphitheatre. The Bolgheri DOC started as rosé-only; whites were permitted in 1984, and ten years later, the laws finally recognized the extraordinary success of the mould-breaking Cabernet-based reds. From the 2007 vintage, Cabernet Franc has become an exceptional blending component for Guado al Tasso and a limited-edition single-variety bottling called Matarocchio.
