- Intense garnet-red. Its aromatic expression reminds me of red fruits, such as ripe raspberries and black cherries, with spicy notes and a delicate toasted tone. It feels broad on the palate. Once opened, it shows its great body and density. Well-balanced and complex, the wine unfolds a significant structure of fine tannins. Its finish is smooth, elegant, and long-lasting. Ageing potential: drink as of now or keep until 2025
Morande was founded in 1996 by Pablo Morande and found immediate recognition domestically and abroad. Morande are true pioneers. “They were the first family to develop the Casablanca DO, recognizing the fantastic potential of this cool climate wine region. They also revived old viticultural regions such as Maule and Itata, working with old dry-farmed bush vines and unconventional varieties such as Carignan, Pais, and Cinsault. All of the wines are produced with grapes from Morand's vineyards. Their winemaking philosophy is guided by seeing the right terroir for each grape variety, and with significant vineyard holdings, they are well-placed to achieve this.
