- aged 12-15 months in oak barrels before bottling. A beautifully scented wine offering violets and red berries aromas with a smooth, silky palate, firm yet smooth tannins, and lovely mouth-feel. This is a wine of great finesse and elegance.
A fine April saw early flowering with a plentiful crop. June was unseasonably hot and there was some drought stress in certain areas. By July, ripening was advancing at a pace. August was hot and dry, and a fine harvest was promised for September. For once, the triage table was largely superfluous, with perhaps only 10% of the crop discarded. Overall, it is a great vintage in terms of quality and quantity
This wine is fermented in vats for 3-4 weeks and aged 12-15 months in oak barrels before bottling.

Winery | Chambolle Musigny lies just north of Vougeot and South of Morey Saint Denis. There are 24 Premiers Crus and 2 Grands Crus. The Chambolle Musigny vineyards are unique in the Cote de Nuits for the chalky composition of its soils just over a hard rocky bedrock that stresses the vines. Les Baudes is near the Bonnes Mares Grand Cru vineyard, near the Morey Saint-Denis village. The grapes bear small dark red berries. The bunches are destemmed; they macerate in open vats for 4 weeks, helping this subtle terroir to reveal itself. After devatting, the wines are aged in oak barrels for 18 months. |
