  • Exhibits superlative characteristics, notably exceptional texture, elegance, and balance. It boasts a sophisticated bouquet featuring complex and heightened aromas of raspberries, red cherries, and nuanced savoury notes. On the palate, it delivers a harmonious blend of spicy red fruit, refined tannins, and a remarkably enduring finish. Noteworthy is the exceptional weather experienced during the 2018 flowering period, facilitating an almost flawless fruit set and yielding the most promising crop in many years. The summer months witnessed consistent and mild temperatures devoid of any abrupt heat surges, a trend that continued through the harvest. 2018 stands out for its abundant and high-quality yields across all varietals, establishing itself as one of Paringa Estates' most distinguished vintages in the past three decades.

The hand-picked fruit was 100% destemmed and cold-soaked for four days before the yeast inoculation. The wine spent 21 days on skins in open stainless steel fermenters with gentle plunging. Post-fermentation, the wine was aged 11 months in French oak barrels, of which 35% were new.

A breath-taking Pinot Noir with extraordinary texture, elegance and poise. Classic aromas of red and dark cherries mingle with hints of spice. The palate is structured yet elegant, with excellent fruit weight and firm tannins and a long, complex, and savoury finish.

The vineyard is set in the classic cool climate subregion of Red Hill at 146 metres above sea level. The Pinot Noir vines are aged between 18 and 25 years; six clones are planted, each with subtle characteristics which impart complexity to the resulting wine. The soil is a deep red volcanic clay that allows dry farming without irrigation. Founder Lindsay McCall still tends to the vineyard characterised by its distinctive Lyre trellis system, which sits on an elaborate steel frame assembly.
