Producer: Matias Riccitelli Wines
Matias Riccitelli, son of legendary winemaker Jorge Riccitelli, founded his boutique winery in 2009. After years of experience working with some of Argentina’s top wineries and vintages across the globe, Matias established his own project to showcase the full potential of Argentine terroir. His 50 hectares of vineyards are located across three prime sites in Mendoza’s Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.
Vineyards & Terroir
Each component of this blend comes from carefully selected, high-altitude, cool-climate vineyards:
-
Sauvignon Blanc – From Gualtallary at 1,400m above sea level, grown in calcareous soils for piercing freshness and aromatic intensity.
-
Semillon – From a 50-year-old vineyard in La Consulta at 1,000m, producing low yields and concentrated fruit in sandy soils.
-
Chardonnay – From La Carrera at 1,700m, rooted in sandy soils with gravel and boulders, bringing structure and minerality.
Winemaking
Upon arrival at the winery, grapes are meticulously sorted. Fermentation takes place in concrete eggs using wild yeasts at low temperatures to preserve vibrant aromatics. The wine is aged for eight months in concrete eggs, enhancing texture and purity while allowing the unique vineyard character to shine.
Tasting Notes
-
Nose – Complex aromas of crisp green apple, sun-dried hay, and fresh herbs, lifted by delicate citrus notes.
