- ABV 13.5%

- Typical grape from Galicia, in North-West Spain, Marimar Torres grafted the bud wood from these vines onto the slightly warmer Russian River Valley estate. Intense, classic aromas of citrus, lime, and white peach, floral honeysuckle overtones and a minerality reminiscent of wet stones. Fresh, lively, and mouth-filling, with bright acidity that follows through with an elegant, crisp finish.
The grapes were harvested September 2-5, gently whole-cluster pressed, and fermented in stainless steel with our indigenous yeast. After the primary fermentation, the wine rested on the lees until bottled in May 2021.
This vintage exhibits bright honeysuckle and star jasmine aromas, Asian pear, and stone fruit like apricot and white peach. The palate displays its classic minerality reminiscent of wet stones, and it is crisp and lively, savoury, and bright with acidity – but also a note of sunshine from California! I would recommend serving it at 45°- 48° F with raw or grilled seafood, smoked salmon, sushi, and Asian cuisine — and with tapas!

Winery | The Don Miguel Vineyard: Named after the late patriarch of the Torres family, this vineyard is located in the Green Valley, the coolest, foggiest region of the Russian River Valley, only ten miles from the Pacific. The Albarino is trained in a cordon style with alternating spurs (alligator teeth), adding width to the fruit zone and providing optimum airflow and light. In 1981 she started searching for the perfect property to plant a vineyard, and - after two years of searching - she bought 25 hectares of land in Sonoma County, close to Sebastopol in the Russian River Valley appellation. This area arguably produces the finest Pinot Noir in all of California. Today, the Don Miguel Vineyard encompasses 50 planted acres. About 20 are planted with Chardonnay, 20 with Pinot Noir, five with Albarino, five with Tempranillo, two with Syrah, and one with an experimental block of Godello. |
