Bouchard Pere et Fils Beaune Greves Vigne de l Enfant Jesus 1er Cru 2013

Named after the predicted
birth of Louis XIV, despite
his mother, Anne of
Austria, being sterile;
this exceptional vineyard
which belonged to the
Carmelites, took on the
name “Vigne de l’Enfant
Jésus”. In 1791, Bouchard
bid for the vineyard, in the
heart of the 32 hectares
of the Beaune Grèves
appellation, of which it still
has the monopoly today.

Bouchard Pere et Fils Beaune Greves Vigne de l Enfant Jesus 1er Cru 2013

"There is ample but again not dominating wood influence to the menthol, red and dark currant, earth and exotic tea scents. The attractively textured, intense and restrained medium weight flavors exhibit a lovely minerality on the ever-so-mildly austere finish where a barely perceptible hint of dryness creeps in. My range offers the benefit of the doubt that this will harmonize with a few years of age. 89-92 Points/Drink 2021+" - Allen Meadows, Burghound
