Deakin Estate's vineyards are located in the Big Rivers region, where the mighty rivers weave across the land, bringing life to the region and to our vines. Rich, fertile soils, and a warm, sunny climate also create a perfect environment for growing quality fruit to make these delicious wines.
Deakin Estate was established in 1967 and named in honour of Alfred Deakin, a former Australian Prime Minister who pioneered irrigation in this arid region. It was recently acquired by Calabria Family Vineyards, a third-generation family run business with a history in winemaking dating back to 1927. The family are proud owners of vineyards in Riverina and the Barossa Valley, as well as sourcing grape from local growers across a range of Australia’s best wine regions.
