- A charming Macon-Villages, with a fresh, fruity expression of juicy white fruits and citrus notes. Textured on the palate with an appealing roundness, bright fruit, and a refreshing lift on the finish.
The Macon-Villages appellation covers white wines produced in selected communes of the Maconnais wine area in southern Burgundy. The landscape of the Maconnais is one of rolling limestone hills, bordered in the east by the Saine River. The vines are grown in clay-limestone soils, with the clay component providing good water retention properties, nourishing the vines throughout the warm summers. The southerly location means the climate is warmer than more northerly parts of Burgundy.
With over 42 years' experience, Olivier Ravier is one of the most iconic and respected winemakers in Beaujolais. He is a former President of the Beaujolais growers association and has been appointed as an expert at the National Institute of the French wines
appellation by the French government. His in-depth knowledge of the region, its climate, and the Gamay variety, is second-to-none. Living in the heart of the Fleurie appellation, he produces wines which overflow with typicity from the Beaujolais terroir.
Recently he has also branched out to producing wine in the Mâconnais region bringing his expertise in the vinification of the Chardonnay grape.
