Wine Description
The San Marzano Tramari Salento Primitivo Rosé 2023 Magnum is an elegant and refreshing Italian rosé crafted exclusively from the Primitivo grape, grown under the warm Mediterranean sun of Salento, Apulia. Its delicate pale pink hue captures the spirit of Southern Italy, while its enticing aromas instantly transport you to the coast of the Adriatic.
On the nose, vibrant notes of wild roses, ripe cherries, and red berries emerge, delicately balanced by a creamy layer of Mediterranean spice. The palate offers a harmonious blend of juicy raspberries, wild cherries, and subtle herbal undertones, lifted by crisp acidity and a gentle touch of residual sweetness. This combination results in a rosé that is both refreshing and sophisticated, ideal for warm evenings and al fresco dining.

| Winery | The San Marzano Primitivo vineyard is located in Salento, Puglia, approximately 100 metres above sea level. High average temperatures and medium-low rainfall characterise the area. The vines are planted at a density of 4,500 per hectare. The soft soil layer is clayey and quite thin, with a good presence of rocks, providing good drainage for the vines. Harvesting takes place during the first week of September. In 1962, 19 vine growers from San Marzano whose families had farmed the land for generations combined their efforts to establish 'Cantine San Marzano'. Through the decades, this cooperative has grown significantly, attracting over 1,200 top-quality vine growers. They produce elegant wines that pay homage to the ancient Apulian wine traditions using modern and technologically advanced vinification techniques. The fusion of time-honoured tradition, passion and contemporary techniques enables this winery to produce wines with distinctive varietal and regional characteristics while reflecting the local terroir. In 2021, San Marzano was awarded the ‘Cooperative Winery of the Year Award’ by Gambero Rosso. |
