This wine is Di Filippo's oldest blend. It is made with a selection of the best grapes every year. Traditional red wine vinification techniques were used, with fermentation taking place with wild native yeasts, which impart the best expression of the terroir. Following maceration to extract the colour, flavours, and fine tannins, the blend was matured for 12 months; 50% was aged in tonneaux and 50% in large casks.

Winery | The vineyard is situated in the DOC Colli Martani and DOC Montefalco, directly opposite the hill town of Assisi in Central Umbria. The hilly terrain is rich and mineral, with clay-calcareous soils and good water retention properties to sustain the vines through the long, hot summers. The vineyard benefits from gentle breezes in this hillside location, which aerate the vines, keeping them healthy. The spur-cordon-trained vines are planted at a density of 4,000 vines per hectare and produce low yields. The vineyard is cultivated to ensure the soil is balanced, biodiversity is preserved, and the grapes are hand-harvested in the early morning hours to maintain freshness and fully express the essence of the land. |
