Producer notes:

130 years after his great-grandfather sought (with great success) to restructure and expand his vineyards, Christophe Perrot-Minot is upholding the tradition of quality and innovation that is synonymous with the name Domaine Perrot-Minot.

Christophe strives to produce wines that recreate the complexity of the terroir itself. His philosophy is to listen to the land and observe sustainable and organic practices, trimming the leaves to maximise the grapes’ exposure to the sun and thinning crops to improve flavours. No herbicides nor fertilisers are used in the vineyards, and y observing patterns in the wind, warmth and humidity of the climate, Christophe is able to intervene only when the weather requires it – not systematically.

The domaine is spread across Morey-Saint-Dennis, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges and boasts a number of vielles vignes (old vines).


Chambolle-Musigny is considered to produce some of the finest Pinot Noir wines on earth, characterised by its power, refinement and a signature perfume. 60% of the grapes in this vintage come from 90 to 100 year old vines (Chambolle VV cuvée grapes), the rest are 1er Cru Combe d'Orveau.


The grapes on the Domaine Perrot-Minot are harvested by hand and initially sorted at the vine. Each grape is then cut in half and inspected at the sorting table, any flawed or unripe grapes are discarded before the fruits are softly dropped into the fermentation vat.

Rather than employing traditional filtering methods, Christophe has developed a ‘filter-by-gravity’ system wherein he leaves the wine to settle so that the sediment falls to the bottle of the tank, the wine is then gently vacuumed out leaving the sediment behind.

Tasting notes:

Bright and full yet restrained. A sweet, liquor-like cherry nose with hints of anise, lavender and rose petals. Sweet sappy flavours of red fruit with notes of liquorice, earth and coffee and a firm backbone of acidity. The caressing mouthfeel leads to a complex finale, with broad, fine-grained tannins and a lovely rising length. A young vintage that would benefit from being held for a few years too.
