2010 Volnay “Taillepieds”: Compared to the nose of the Pitures, here the fruit is both redder and cooler and as one would typically expect, even more mineral-infused as well. This stony character continues onto the racy, intense and satin-textured flavors that enjoy plenty of tannin-buffering dry extract on the energetic and tension-filled finish that displays the classic austerity of a young Taillepieds. In a word, impressive.
