Tasting Notes: Complex Aromatics and Vibrant Structure
First Impressions and Aromatic Profile
On the nose, the initial impression is delicately sweet with candied cherry and strawberry aromas, delivering a classic yet youthful Burgundy character. As the wine evolves in the glass, the bouquet deepens with notes of forest floor, cranberry, dried herbs, and earthy soil. A fleeting but distinctive scent of burning metal adds a rare complexity, while hints of aged leather provide a welcome secondary layer of richness.
Palate and Structure
The palate is precise and lifted, driven by high acidity that ensures freshness, longevity, and food-pairing versatility. This structure makes the wine vibrant, expressive, and effortlessly drinkable, yet age-worthy for decades. A true reflection of the 2016 vintage in Burgundy – fresh, balanced, and classically styled.

| Winery | The first aromatic impression was candied cherry and strawberry. But this was my first impression and did not return. Over the course of dinner what emerged was aromas of forest floor, soil, dry herbs, cranberry, and incredibly, at one point, the scent of burning metal. Also, a secondary layer of leather was nice. Acid is high which makes it vibrant and easy to drink. |
