- Expressive flavors of raspberry and blackberry are complemented by blackcurrant and warm plum, underpinned by chocolatey nuances. The elegant and opulent palate is textured with plush tannins through to a smooth and velvety finish.
The wine underwent an extended maceration and was aged for 18 months in French oak, of which 37% was new. The balance was aged in twice and thrice-used French oak. The final blend includes a small proportion of additional varieties for added depth and complexity. The wine was bottled unfiltered, contributing greater texture and presence to the mid-palate.
The grapes for the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon were sourced selected vineyards in the Napa Valley from Oak Knoll to north of Calistoga, with the majority of fruit coming from estate vineyards. The grapes were picked early in the morning hours to retain freshness. The vineyards are diligently monitored throughout the growing season to balance the crop size and quality. Shoot thinning and leaf removal early in the growing
season, followed by cluster thinning at véraison, help to achieve evenly ripened grapes with concentrated flavors.
