Cannonau is the most important and exclusive red wine grape native to Sardinia, as it is thought to be the oldest variety in the Mediterranean. The vineyard is located on a gentle slope between Alghero and Sassari. It sits atop a mixture of geological formations such as calcareous marne, conglomerate and sandstone. The vineyard is planted with a high density of vines. The newest innovations are implemented in the cultivation of the vineyard, while respecting the traditions and ecosystem of the geographical location. Pruning and harvesting take place manually. The meticulous selection of grape clusters ensures optimum quality.

Ala Blanca means white wing in Italian. "Here come the white wings" the children would cry as they watched the seagulls fly over the vineyard. Vermentino is the main white grape cultivated in Sardinia. It is presumed to have Spanish origins, but has found its ideal setting in the north of Sardinia, where it can fully express its distinctive characteristics. The climate is Mediterranean, with frequent north westerly winds, which help to reduce disease pressure in the vineyard. The vineyard is located on gentle slopes between Alghero and Sassari, where the Guyot trained vines are planted on American rootstocks at a density of 4,500 vines per hectare. The vineyard is made up of two main soil types: sandy soils are located close to the sea, which are poor in nutrients, but offer good water retention. The grapes here ripen perfectly and offer a distinctive saline note to the wine. The other is a limestone soil mixed with calcareous stone, which is richer and produces elegant and structured wines.
