Tasting Notes: Louis Jadot Chambertin Clos De Bèze 2022
The Louis Jadot Chambertin Clos De Bèze Grand Cru 2022 opens with a deep, expressive nose of black cherry, wild strawberry, and red currant, layered with hints of violet, earthy truffle, and subtle spice from oak ageing. The palate is intense yet refined, with silken tannins, vivid acidity, and a mineral edge that reflects the unique marl and limestone soils of Clos de Bèze. Expect a long, poised finish that lingers with savoury elegance and promise for cellaring.
Burgundy Vintage Report – 2022 Growing Season in Côte de Nuits
The 2022 vintage in Burgundy was marked by warm, dry conditions that led to healthy vine development and an early harvest. The Pinot Noir grapes from Clos de Bèze benefited from optimal ripening conditions, yielding wines with excellent concentration, ripe tannins, and fresh acidity. Despite the warm year, balance and finesse have been preserved, resulting in age-worthy Grand Cru wines of both richness and structure.

| Winery | Gevrey Chambertin is the northernmost of the great communes of the Cote de Nuits. There are 26 Premiers Crus and 8 Grands Crus. Half of the Premiers Crus of Gevrey lie on the Grands Cru's east-facing slope; the other half occupies a steep, southeast-facing slope to the north, with calcareous clay soils. The Chambertin vineyard is situated on deep, chalky soil and clayey at the surface, making the wine both powerful and round. Destemmed grapes ferment in vats for 3 to 4 weeks. Ageing occurs in oak barrels produced by our cooperage Cadus for 18 months. |
