Producer Note
Thiasos is made for us by one of the pioneers of the modern Greek wine revolutionYiannis Paraskevopoulos, using grapes from Nemea in the northeastern area of the Peloponnese peninsula. The Thiasos was the retinue of Dionysos, the Greek god of wine. It consisted of Maenads and Satyrs. The Maenads were mythical nymphs ( females ) and the Satyrs were half human half horse. Winemaking
Fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain the fresh, varietal character in the wine. Tasting Note
A superb example of modern fruit-driven Greek winemaking; soft, moreish flavours of damson and dark plum enveloped in a medium-bodied coating of soft tannins. A beautifully balanced Agiorgitiko, the ancient red grape of the Peloponnese. Serving Suggestion
A well balanced combination of rich fruit and soft tannins make this a very versatile wine, superbly matching moussaka, tzatziki and keftethes, as well as other rice dishes.
