Producer Note
Domaine Ferrand has been passed down from father to son over three generations. The Domaine is now run by Nadine Ferrand, who had been making the wine together with her husband before his untimely death and who now continues the family tradition. The estate, comprising six hectares in Pouilly Fuissé, is situated in Solutré Pouilly at the heart of the appellation. Their wines are characterised by lovely balance and elegant flavours of fresh butter combined with a typical minerality. Discovered recently by the sommelier Wine awards competition, as a hidden gem of its appellation. Vineyard
The 45 year old vines are cordon trained and grown in chalky- limestone and heavy clay soils. Winemaking
The grapes were gently pressed, followed by a fermentation in temperature controlled cement tanks. The wine went through malolactic fermentation and the final blend was made at the end of April. Estate bottling took place between April and September. Tasting Note
A well balanced and elegant wine with fresh yellow plum flavours and spicy notes that carry through to an invigorating mineral palate and buttery finish. Serving Suggestion
This is an ideal apéritif wine, also accompanies fish, poultry or fresh goats cheese.
