Producer Note
André Brunel's family first settled in Châteauneuf du Pape in the 18th century and began estate bottling their wines in the middle of the 20th century. They own 22 hectares in Châteauneuf du Pape and 40 hectares in the Côtes du Rhône. André Brunel makes wines from his estate grown grapes as well as grapes from his neighbouring growers where he tends the vineyards. His son Fabrice has now joined the company to continue the family tradition. Vineyard
The vineyard sits on clay over a chalk subsoil. Winemaking
Each grape variety was fermented separately in concrete vats lasting between 15 to 20 days. The different cuvées were blended together at the end of January following the harvest and the wine was bottled at the end of February. Tasting Note
Based on the typical white Rhone variety of Roussanne this is a creamy, full flavoured wine with spicy, mineral notes and a fresh finish. Serving Suggestion
A classic match for fresh shellfish, crab cakes or to accompany chicken tagines with almonds and apricots.
