Tasting notes - The nose is fresh and reminiscent of white flowers, with delicate aromas of floral-flavoured honey and spice. A champagne with a crisp initial impact on the palate, giving way to rich, generous floral notes and citrus flavours which are enhanced by a touch of liquorice. Exuberant finish.

of flowers combined with broad, biscuity flavours. The

pleasant thirst-quenching quality.
Producer Note
Champagne Francoise Bedel, a three-generation family-estate is based at Crouttessur-
Marne, a pretty village on the edge of the Champagne region. The family own
8.4 hectares of vineyards with vines aged between 20 to 60 years. The parcels of
vineyard are spread along the banks of the river Marne over four areas: Crouttes-Sur-
Marne, Nanteuil-Sur-Marne, Charly-Sur-Marne, and Villiers-Saint-Denis. Bedel operates
using biodynamic principles which they believe make for high quality wines with their
own personality and reflect the unique elements of the terroir.
Vineyard
Champagne Françoise Bedel & Fils cultivates 8,40 hectares (20,75 acres) of vines
spread along the banks of the Marne river, over different areas. The vineyards are
cultivated using biodynamic practices. The vines are mature and range from 20 to
60 years in age. The vineyards are made up of 78% Pinot Meunier, 13% Chardonnay
and 9% Pinot Noir and are based in Crouttes-Sur-Marne, Nanteuil-Sur-Marne, Charly-
Sur-Marne, and Villiers-Saint-Denis. The soils are clay-calcareous and alluviumcalcareous.
Winemaking
Part of the harvest was vinified in oak barrels to create the right conditions for
controlled oxidation and make the wines rounder and more opulent. The remainder
went into enamelled tanks. Racking sessions and bottlings were timed to coincide
with the most auspicious days, according to Maria Thund's lunar calendar. Riddling
and disgorging operations were done by hand. The wine spent a minimum of eight
years on the lees.
