Intense, luminous salmon pink with coppery highlights and a steady stream of fine bubbles. Elegant aromas of raspberries, wild strawberries and rose petals preceede the full, silky, sensual palate, the crunchy red fruit and citrus flavours show a delicate balance and great length with a dry finish.
Blason Rosé has always been made from the strictest selection of the finest possible base wines. Pinot Noir from grand cru vineyards in Aÿ, Mailly and Verzenay and Pinot Meunier from terroirs in Dizy, Hautvillers and Venteuil are blended with a large proportion of Chardonnay from the magnificent grand cru Cramant vineyards in the Côtes des Blancs. The encépagement of the new Blason Rosé is a blend of 43 percent Pinot Noir, 29 percent Pinot Meunier, 28 percent Chardonnay and up to 20 percent reserve wines. Cremieres still Pinot Noir wine from first growth premier cru is added following maceration to reveal a beautiful salmon rose hue with brilliant copper highlights. Blason Rosé is made to the same high standards as the “Blason” cuvée, in equally limited quantities.
Blason Rosé is a cuvée with a distinguished character and pairs well with a wide range of foods. It makes for a perfect apéritif served with fresh shellfish or smoked salmon. The predominance of Pinot Noir in the cuveé also gives the Blason Rosé enough intensity to match richer dishes such as roasted salmon and game. Try the Blason Rosé with finely sliced roasted pheasant breast, pan-fried venison filets with fresh truffles, or wild pork in red wine served with forest mushrooms and an apple/cranberry sauce.
