Producer Note
Domaine du Grand Tinel was founded in the 18th century by the Establet and Jeune families. Its name derives from the Latin word "Tina" meaning large barrel or cellar. In 1846 the Establet family acquired parcels of vines at La Gardiole which still today represents the heart of the property, with its windmill known as 'Le Moulin de l'Auro'. Today this 56ha Domaine is run by Mr Elie Jeune's two daughters Beatrice and Isabelle and wine making is in the hands of his son Christophe. Vineyard
The picking, which is entirely manual, is followed by systematic sorting in the vineyard and again on the sorting table in the cellar. The average age of vines is 70 years old. Winemaking
Traditional vinification took place with complete destemming. Each variety was vinified separately, blended then aged for 12 to 16 months in oak casks before estate bottling. The wine was aged in large oak barrels for 12 to 24 months. Tasting Note
Aromas of liquorice, red fruits, blackcurrants and rich spices with good weight and supple tannins. Serving Suggestion
