Producer Note
Domaine du Grand Tinel was founded in the 18th century by the Establet and Jeune families. Its name derives from the Latin word "Tina" meaning large barrel or cellar. In 1846 the Establet family acquired parcels of vines at La Gardiole which still today represents the heart of the property, with its windmill known as 'Le Moulin de l'Auro'. Today this 56ha Domaine is run by Mr Elie Jeune's two daughters Beatrice and Isabelle and wine making is in the hands of his son Christophe. Vineyard
The picking, which is entirely manual, is followed by systematic sorting in the vineyard and afterwards on a sorting table in the cellar. The average age of the vines is 70 years old. Winemaking
Traditional vinification with complete destemming. The grape varieties are vinified separately with a long maceration of 3-4 weeks in temperature controlled vats. The wines are then aged for 12 to 18 months in new and old casks. The wines are then estate bottled. Tasting Note
