With Albanella grapes and a small addition of white vinification of Pinot Noir, Fattoria Mancini has produced a wine called Roncaglia from the early seventies. In 1994, after over twenty years of production, this wine was recognized as the D.O.C. Colli Pesaresi Roncaglia.
To respect Albanella's distinctive characteristics, Roncaglia is vinified in stainless steel. It is a wine of good structure and great longevity, with refreshing aromas and flavours, appealing citrus notes, and a typical minerality accentuated by the vineyard's proximity to the sea.

Winery | Italy may not often be associated with Pinot Noir. Yet, the stretch of coastline around Pesaro in northern Marche has proved its suitability for two centuries, and the Mancini family have been lovingly tending Pinot here for five generations. With clay-limestone soil and temperatures moderated by the Adriatic, the terroir produces as good a Pinot as you will find outside the top crus of Burgundy, as well as fascinating white Pinot Noir and some superb wines from Italian grape varieties: The well-known Sangiovese plus the far more obscure local varieties Albanella and Ancellotta |
