Domaine Drouhin Oregon Roserock Pinot Noir 2023 – Product Description

A Distinctive Oregon Pinot Noir Experience

The Domaine Drouhin Oregon Roserock Pinot Noir 2023 is a refined, cool‑climate red wine from the famed Eola‑Amity Hills AVA of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, this wine is the result of fruit hand‑picked across 35 meticulously tended vineyard blocks, individually fermented, and aged in French oak to preserve its elegant structure and clarity.

The Roserock vineyard is planted on ancient volcanic (Jory) soils at a strategic elevation, benefiting from the cooling effect of the Van Duzer Corridor. These terroir characteristics impart mineral tension, bright acidity, and a refined energy typical of premium Oregon Pinot Noir.

Tasting Profile & Aromas

On the Nose

Expect a vibrant bouquet of tart cherry, orange-cranberry, and red plum, layered with earthy undertones and delicate floral notes.

On the Palate

The palate is a cascade of dark and red fruits, including blueberry, black cherry, and raspberry, complemented by hints of baking spice, stone, and softly integrated oak. Silky, fine-grained tannins provide structure without overwhelming, leading to a dry, refined finish.

Mouthfeel & Ageing

Medium‑bodied with polished acidity, this Pinot Noir delivers a smooth, elegant mouthfeel. It is ready to drink now but promises further complexity and balance over the next 8–12 years with cellaring.

Awards & Ratings

  • 92 points, Decanter Magazine: noted for its sleek palate, cool‑fruit character, and warm baking spice.

  • 93.6 (Ken’s Wine Guide): a strong score based on multiple reviews, highlighting balance, approachability, and fine tannins.
