Region: Maipo Valley, Chile
Vineyard and Viticulture: Located in San Bernardo in the heart of the Maipo Valley the climate is the perfect combination of a warm temperate Mediterranean climate with a long, dry summer. The soils are alluvial with a core of stones & sand which allows deep root systems to develop. The vineyard is planted at a high-density which makes it possible to achieve low production per plant with a high concentration of colour and flavours. The team work consistently in the vineyard to produce a small number of clusters per plant (1kg of grapes to 1 bottle of wine)
Vinification: The grapes are selected 3 times to ensure quality. The vinification is traditional Bordeaux style with long macerations lasting 3 to 5 weeks. Once this process is over, the wine is placed in French oak casks for 18 months for malolactic fermentation and subsequent maturing. The wine is decanted for two months and bottled without filtering.
