Chateau Fortia stretches over 36 hectares of which 32 are devoted to growing vines. The rest is made up of woodland, flower, and vegetable gardens, which contribute to the balance of the ecosystem on the estate. They strive to limit the use of phytosanitary products and for many years they have been working the soils mechanically to avoid chemical weed killers. The technique of sexual confusion of predators. Two-thirds of the property serves as a hunting reserve promoting the development of plants and wildlife. Since 2016 Chateau Fortia has been certified by Terra Vitis and since 2019 it holds the HVE certificate which officially recognizes the environmental performance of winegrowers, including biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategies, managed fertilizer use, and water resource management. Recent improvements in the vineyard have included the replanting of vines in the correct plots of land to suit the grape variety. The distinct terroir here consists of rounded quartzite stones from the Villa Franchian period. These stones absorb heat during the day and then radiate it at night, ensuring full grape maturity is reached. The yields are 30 hectolitres per hectare.

Chateau Fortia is a symbolic estate in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, both for its location and its roots that are closely linked to that of its appellation. In 1936 due to the efforts of Baron Pierre Leroy, Chateauneuf du Pape became the first appellation with a set of winemaking regulations. Today his descendants still continue the proud family tradition.
