Aromas of strawberries, balsamic, and hints of mint and fresh floral are prominent. Flavors of mixed red berries and herbs with harmoniously balanced tannins and a long finish.
Viñas del Cámbrico is based in one of Spain’s most recently granted DOs, Sierra de Salamanca, located at the southern end of Castilla y León. Since their first vintage in 2003 they have been making wines from the local Rufete and Rufete Blanca grapes, grown on old vines which are planted on granite and slate soil terraces. Over time the holdings have been expanded to cover ten hectares of vineyards – no easy task since this expansion involved negotiating and purchasing land from over 130 growers. From these vines, Viñas del Cámbrico produce stellar examples of authentic, handcrafted wines, true to their region of origin and a unique addition to the viticultural landscape of modern Spain.
