This vintage served up conditions that were particularly great for Adelaide Hills Chardonnay - and of note is the inclusion of a new grower into the Harvest project - the Swaby family of Gumeracha: some of the best Chardonnay growers in the Adelaide Hills. Cooler temperatures and a long ripening season meant great complexity and flavour development drawn taught and tensioned by a flintiness only seen in the best years.

Method: Wild ferment, lees stirred once a week for 3 months, 50% matured in stainless steel, 50% matured in old oak Puncheons

Notes on the 2017 Vintage: In stark contrast to recent vintages, the 2017 Harvest provided optimal conditions for us to craft wines that emphasis their natural acidity and vibrant texture. A long, slow ripening period characterised by cool weather, without many incidents of rain. For our style of winemaking, this vintage was ideal and we’re super excited to release these wines!
