Michel Rolland has been an inspiration to the global wine industry for many decades and has put his stamp on this wine. Yacochuya is made in the region of Cafayate, located in the north of Argentina in Salta province. Malbec vines are grown at 2035m above sea level on clay/gravelly sand. This high altitude means there are large differences between day and night temperatures, allowing complex aromas and flavours to develop while preserving acidity levels. The vines have an average age of 60 years old and so the fruit is incredibly concentrated. The owner Marcos Etchart and winemaker Michel Rolland ensure that all grapes are handpicked and sorted before being put into temperature controlled vats for fermentation.
