Torbreck Steading Blanc 2015

Fragrant aromas of acacia flowers, roasted nuts and buttered citrus are  neatly balanced with underlying hints of bees wax, minerals, chalk and fino. The ripe, fleshy barrel fermented Viognier and Marsanne gives the palate extraordinary richness, whilst the Roussanne contributes it’s more flinty and austere personality.

Two Paddocks Pinot Noir 2016

The flagship from Two Paddocks – an organically grown barrel selection from the estate properties.  This wine was produced from the four Neill family Central Otago vineyards. These small sites are high-density planted in a range of clonal material cropped to under 5 Tonne per hectare with most vineyard practices carried out by hand.  As in the vineyard, the wine is hand crafted using traditional methods including a 25% whole bunch, indigenous fermentation and hand plunging.  Maturation is in French barriques for 10 months, using a mix of older and new (20%) barrels.

The palate is mid-weight but filled with juiciness and suppleness supported by beautifully sculpted silky and ripe tannins. This is an elegant, yet very well structured wine. Yalumba Steeple Vineyard...

The 2012 single site Shiraz is sourced from the Yalumba Steeple vineyard.
This old block of Shiraz was planted in 1919, on its own roots, close to the Light Pass township on the floor of the Barossa Valley. The soil is well drained and consists of a marked contrast in texture between the surface soil and the subsoil.

This wine is plum red in colour and medium to full depth in hue. Bright cherry, chocolate and musk fruit aromas are supported by savory cedar oak. The palate is vibrant with blueberries and curry leaf, balanced by choc-mint with the tannins having a mouth filling praline texture. Long and lingering the finish has the structure that Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is famed for.
