The aromas are red to dark fruit, dark cherry and plum, followed by slight choc-mint notes. A perfect colour with deep red and purple hues. A full-bodied style at 14% alcohol is nicely weighted in that the tannins are fine and ripe and the oak perfectly nuanced. Spiced fruit characters on the finish give this wine a long after taste. An excellent marriage of the three regions.
Well integrated wood and ageing on the lees developed a full, rich palate with a smooth lingering finish. This Chenin Blanc is concentrated and structured for longevity. An elegant well crafted wine.
The 18 months of maturation in new French oak has intensified the rich aromas of blackcurrant and cassis, layered with decadent dark chocolate and cherry tobacco. A velvety texture that lingers on the palate with a distinct blackcurrant aftertaste. A ripe tannin structure from the grapes hanging up to 18 days longer in the vineyard, gives this wine the potential to mature for many years to come.
NOSE The ripeness of the vintage is readily apparent as pineapple and stone fruit burst from the glass during the first pour. Fresh melon, along with cinnamon, nutmeg and myriad of baking spices follow suit as the wine begins to warm and its aromatic opulence comes into focus.
PALATE While the toasty barrel character sets the stage for richness and depth, take the time to enjoy the beautiful interplay between the crisp, fresh orange zest and ginger notes and how they interact with the creaminess and texture from sur lees aging.
FINISH The texture of the midpalate seamlessly overlays the dense, concentrated finish, punctuated by baked apple, vanilla, and a hint of white pepper.
NOSE Fresh rose and violet followed by orange blossom and honeysuckle. Mango, peach, and ripe apricot slowly come into focus after a few patient minutes.
PALATE Ripe melon and lemon curd are the stars of the show here but quickly yield to fresh pineapple, quince jam, and clove.
FINISH The acidity and viscosity of the wine are quite complementary and usher in a subtle sweetness highlighted by fresh fig and honey.
The type of vine, the soil and the style of winemaking give great Burgundian
typicity to this wine: full-bodied, with delicate, rich aromas and a long finish, smoky
flavours and white truffles.
Very typical Burgundy: wine with a very clean, complex and delicate
nose, a fine and diversified bouquet of aromas, red fruits and leafy undergrowth.
Temperature of service: 14-16°c.
Its terroir provides its strength and its exposure provides its freshness. At the start of the 1980’s, a passion for the vine inspired Domaine Pellé to separately vinify our premier clos: les blanchais. We rightly believed that the complexity of the land is reflected in the wine…. These old vines deliver power and length in both the nose and on the palate. Citrus fruit and vegetal notes gently mingle with a subtle minerality without ever being too heavy or too exuberant.
A bottle that only improves with age…
The taste is racy and crystalline, clear with a citrus fruit taste initially followed by a saline and mineral finish. Nothing overly exuberant: just clarity and precision.
A powerful entrance precedes a complex structure, persisting aromatics, and reminiscences of cherries on an enduring finish.
After a complex intensity mellow fruits and wild flowers are dominating attended by a soft smoky flavour and a mineral touch
Aromas of cocoa powder, plum compote, ripe cherry and soft roast merge to make a delicate and elegant wine.
This white blend ties the knot between Sauvignon blanc and Semillon. Ripe asparagus notes from the Sauvignon blanc complement the green fig and dusty elements from the Semillon. A complex wine with well-balanced oak with a refreshing, smooth finish. Enjoyed with roast chicken or fresh seafood
A compelling nose of espresso, truffles, dark plums and blackcurrant with layers of aromatic intensity that remains fresh and lively. The palate is multi-layered, with masses of cassis and mixed spice, and a hint of chocolate.
Enticing liquorice and fragrant herb notes on the nose, revealing hints of dark stone fruits and cassis with layers of roasted coffee beans. The key characteristic on the palate is the textural tannins that provide support for the supple yet restrained palate - finishing with freshness, purity and length.
Wisps of cloves, nutmeg and five spice add definition to the layers of dark stone fruits and espresso. The palate has density yet also displays savoury, textural components and fine-grained ripe tannins.
Citrus with lanolin, hay and tropical fruits on the bouquet. Also very subtle toasty, brioche notes. The palate is plush on entry, rich and melded yet shows a fine acidity that provides a perfect balance to the wine. A restrained elegance and lingering aftertaste completes the wine.
A dark centered, black-red and ruby rim. Elegant, black fruit with violets, cloves, smokiness and black pepper on the bouquet. The palate shows sweet ripe fruit, spicy oak, elegance and rich, dry tannins made for the long haul. The palate ends with a lingering, savoury finish.
